Getbhavcopy: Free NSE and BSE data downloader

Hi;

Since the beginning of this year getbhavcopy.exe file is not opening. Has anybody faced this problem.

I downloaded the file once again and tried to open it - same result. Does anybody have any clue why this is so.

I am also facing the same problem from the start of this year.

I am unable to open current version of the bhavcopy.  The older version do open but of no use as it no longer works. I first thought that my norton internet security is blocking it. Tried disabling but no luck..

I thought the problem only for me... now I understand the problem is the application. Need help from the author to make it work for 2012.

I am also facing the same issue. If I change the date to prev year the getbhavcopy launches successfully. However as soon as I change to 2012 it fails to open up.

@ nareshji.. if it launches  fine after changing date also then u should have not have issue.. but in my case after changing date also it doesnt work

Bhav copy is not working for last 4 days.I tried to downlooad latest version but no positive result.

hope the developer is concerned about this problem and will solve it soon

You do  following steps

1) download bhavcopy from nseindia  in csv format

2) open in excel.

3) apply filter

4) delect eq in instrument type

5) delete all rows having other extension like bv nf  etc

 6) now select all that is eq

7)  keep the following columns  open, high, low ,close, timestamp

move the timestamp column   in to b2 column replace eq by time stamp change the date as number  in the format yymmdd 20120105

9) copy to all rows

10)  save as csvformat

11) open the saved csv format with word

12) save as textfile datewise in to c:\getbhavcopy\nse\dtewise.txtfile

13) open the downloader and convert the file as usual

sir, my shortcut to bhavcopy is not opening ,please can u give some direction,what to do in this case ,how to open that bahvcopy file.it is not opening since starting of 2012.can any 1 help me regarding this

Please wait for a day. I am fixing the issue and Getbhavcopy will start working from tomorrow ...i.e. the new version will be coming out. Till then please bear with me...
