Hi Rochelle,

Currently there is no facility to download any derivatives data (i.e. Futures or Options) in Getbhavcopy. So you will not be able to get that data using Getbhavcopy.

As for sites where this data is available I believe you should be able to download derivatives Historical data from NSE site. Select the 'Bhavcopy' radio on the page and enter desired date in the field. I understand it is a bit manual and cumbersome, but that is my best bet for now.

I just wanted to confirm that you needed data for Indian Stock Exchanges as I see you are from New Zealand. Do you trade in Indian stocks or you need this for studies?

Thanks for using Getbhavcopy.

As i mentioned, as of now Getbhavcopy does not download Futures/Options data. The only help i can do is to provide that facility, but that will take time and I cannot commit on a date.

Rochelle you can use EOD downloader from another vendor which has the data for NSE options. The annual data cost is appoximetaly 3500. As a research scholar you can go for it. I dont know if I could give the name of the software on Hemen's site.

The data cost indicated in my post was in rupees. That is approx 80 USD for a year of data. I have the option data for last three years but is too big to post. It can be opened in notepad . Can you elaborate what exactly are you researching in options? Indian options differ only in expiry durations from US options.

Dear Partha,

Did I say it was my software and I was trying to sell it? Rochelle asked for something and I gave the info I had. I only quoted the price for the software and I did not give the name of vendor. By the way I have  options data for three years which can be had free of charge. I hope it will open the wink.

The compressed size is approx 16 MB and I can send it by email to anyone interested.

Yk,

I have option data collected using a vendor called stoxtrend. It is upto 18 August when my subscription expired. The files dont open in MS and only open in the viewer of the programme. There is no charge. You can open the files in excel though you will need to do some work to see the figures neatly arranged in columns. As you are a computer pro it wont be an issue for you. I shall upload the file and place the link in a few hours.

I stopped using stoxtrend downloader after switching to GBC. The only advantage there was arrangement fo data in neat folders. Nifty, BSE, A group all were placed in separate folders as also the options data which opened in their own viewer. I hope Hemen keeps GBC free to help many like me.
