Getbhavcopy: Free NSE and BSE data downloader

Friends,

Though each series of future & options gets expire on every 3 month, a data of 3 months is quite useful.

I, therefore, request hemen to incorporate a key to download F&O bhavcopy from NSE site.

This will be helpful to all those who are interested in F&O.

Hi Dilip,

This is the next thing I plan to add to Getbhavcopy. Very soon I will be writing the future plan about how I plan to add F&O facility in Getbhavcopy.

Users can then comment on the blog post and we can discuss and finalize the specs. This way I can ensure that it helps majority of users.

                     I had posted about F/O data possibility few weeks back... I did not see any commnets by any member or the in Traderji website. Is something did I miss compeletely. or was it not worth option to try. Kindly post ur honest comments.

I do have those in mind and I am planning to implement it in the next version of Getbhavcopy. However I have been busy lately with my office work and upgrading the site whereby I was not able to work on Getbhavcopy itself.

But now that the site seems stable all that input from you and others is the sole base on which I will be adding F&O capability to Getbhavcopy.

Belive me there is nothing too great about being in CA. I prefer India more. Hence I will be moving back to 'Amchi Mumbai' soon. :-)

This morning only I was listening to a small chat regarding NRI Indians back to India. You also coming back to India. Hit by this recession thing.    Hmmmm... Oh god.

God forbid anything like that happening. I am returing as my visa is getting over. I was here for a short project from TCS.

Sorry for the very very late reply.....   You are deputed there by TCS...    Now that gives me the answer. I was wondering why a person (even an NRI) outside India is so much interested in TA of Indian Stock market.... I was also thinking why  how you will trade here...  ha ha....

thnks for a lovely utility, i wish if u can take it one step further & directly update metastock directory, so we do not have to run ms downloader evrytime. i have seperate folder for each industry, so i have to run downloader for each of them.. its a real pain,

Dear Hemen, Is there any progress in adding a tool in getbhavcopy for downloading f & o data, Futures data is important than options data.

I request you to start a section on forum regarding the technical recommendations from the members.This will help the members to share their calls.

I specifically want to refrain from updating a TA software database directly from Getbhavcopy as this would tie Getbhavcopy to that TA software. Moreover you have a different folder for each industry, someone else  would have a different set of naming or organisation. It is difficult to cater to every ones needs. I tend to make the product general enough so that it is useful for a majority of users. Hence the current design.
