Getbhavcopy: Free NSE and BSE data downloader

I am new to GetBhavCopy and Stock Market, so please execuse me if this is a simple question.

Its a wonderful tool to download EOD data. Thanks a lot Hemen for your hardwork in buidling as well as supporting this tool.

I have noticed something in the downloads. Number of scrips downloaded for day 1 are different from day 2. For example, 02 Dec's download consists of 2938 scrips while 01 Dec's download consists of 2921 scrips.

What is the reason for this ???

hi,

there are more than 5000 stock on BSE. in adition there are some bonds and debentures also listed for trading. obviously, all of them are not traded daily.

now as far as i think, only the stocks or bonds which are traded are only listed in the bhavcopy for the day, cause the OHLC would be available for them only. since the no. fluctuates daily, it will differ !!!
