varun - dear o dear!!! a circuit again that makes it 31 circuits in 32 sessions. though, volumes after shooting up for last 2 sessions, have dried up again.

have to say that if this is manipulation, someone is doing a mighty good job, got to see how long the party lasts.this is sure turning out to be a heck of a party, even to watch from sidelines.

Hind Oil Exploration - 7th circuit in a row !!!!!!!!! quite a feat for a stock @ 341.15(today close).volume- 70,822.

windsor machines- penny stock with almost no volumes but again, with daily circuits

uttam galva steels- metal on fire again after a lull

low on 12 may @28.7.

today close @90.5 volumes- 5,23,251

p.s.- the stock seems to move in short bursts nd then moves sideways for a long time. so if someone has to buy, then put ur stop nd tgt (a good Rs30-40 away) nd forget till any one of them gets hit !!!

jindal south west holdings- following pattern of PVP ventures. low @192 on 12 mar, today close up 9.75 @1068.9

tata coffee- momentum is increasing and so are volumes.

on 6 march close@137.5 with paltry volumes of 832. today close @371.5 volumes- 5,03,506

philips carbon black- following a classic head and shoulders pattern, topped on 7 Dec 2007 @300. kept falling nd has made a 'U' shaped bottom, with low on 9 march @28. been making higher peaks and troughs since, and from 9 July, is following a very steep rise.

today close @149.85 volumes (never a worry) -87,083.

p.s.- neckline is still some distance away.

patni computers- another blue chip star- close on 2 march @95, today close@453. volumes - 10,75,900.

kiridyes - today down Rs 5.5 close@392 volumes-61,590.

jaypee hotels - been hitting quite some circuits!!!!!!!-on 3 march close@ 59.65 today close@229.15. volumes- 2,11,952

Edserv - hit 22 circuits in 24 sessions, but been sideways since 12 aug 09. today close @79.85 volume - 3,62,354

Eveready industries- low@25 on 14 Jul, today close @ 66.4 volume- 12,56,812

IT & T- this too believes in dealing in circuits, but to its credit, has hit many more up circuits than down.

LOL ... Your assesment on the new BULL market since March this year should act as a warning signal for many traders but then after a year long bear phase some times reactions tend to be over extended

As for UTTAM steel & UTTAM sugars, I do follow them @ times ( when i decide to hatch my penny stock net on the market) but trust me Mayank, the RISK to REWARD ratios on these are simply stacked against the trader. Plus one hardly gets time to take positions on these scrips on intra day momentums.

Anyeways, u do keep track of these scrips ... who knows some day we all can conspire to make moolah outta them ... Getbhav copy gang can take its revenge on penny stocks for appearing so attractive but never giving opportunity to trade

well i will post data on scrips going down also. it just takes more time of mine to scan and analyze as the no. of scrips double. also it is of almost no use since in normal course, u cant go short overnight.

i define a penny stock as something below Rs 20/- by that criteria most of the stocks i posted here r not penny ones! the list contains PATNI COMP, JINDAL SOUTH WEST HOLDING, EVEREADY, EDSERV, TATA COFFEE, etc, which qualify for MIDCAP stocks.

yes by definition such high momentum activity will happen mostly in smallcap stocks penny or not, i do understand that. but again u have a list here and watch were it all goes from here !!!

1. here list of scrips is given who are rising or falling, faster than market (S &P 500 is considered), by a certain degree (my prerogetive)

2. scrips ranked as per their rate of climb (or fall).

HIGH FLIERS WEEKLY

1 VARUN  - Nowreturning to normalcy in proceedings. stock has been witnessing very largevolumes, and the pace has slowed down considerably.in past 6 trading days, thestock has hit only 3 circuits, compared to its recent activity of hitting dailycircuits. maybe a top is achieved or is in the offing. atleast not much upsideleft.

but still stock is up from 121 on 19 Aug to 180, a coool 50%rise !!

2 HINDOILEXP - coupled with huge volume activity takingplace, made a bear engulfing pattern, indicating a possible reversal. the oil& gas sector was underperforming the s&p anyway, but this stock wasdefying all logic. looks a reversal candidate now. close @338.75, volume->15 lacs.

3 IT&T - still powering ahead. 5th consecutive circuit,that makes 14 circuits since 17 Aug. close@46.4, volume> 1 lacs

4 WEBELSOLAR - consolidates for long nd then rises in shortbursts. still consolidating (or moving sideways) for the more than a week now.close @324.8 volume - 30 k.

5 JAYPEEHOT - still following the pattern of increasing inprice and volume. now @ 229, volume > 2 lacs.

6 PVP - rises are on very large volumes compared to falls.indicates a lot of supply is coming, but there is more demand available. result- volatile, but still in uptrend. close @ 50.4 with volume > 33 lacs !!averages volumes would more be like 6-8 lacs.

7 KIRIDYES - volatality as measured by ATR has increased,but still only in sideways mode.close@ 391, volume- 17k .

8 ENTEGRA - sideways. close @43.5, volume >25k

14 SATYAMCOMP - following a long consolidation nd shortburst rise pattern. looks good still. close @120, volume > 1 crore.

16 WABCO-TVS – has shed quite some of its gains. But volumesstil are pathetic nd haven’t improved. Dosent deserve attention due to that.

17 RUCHISOYA - still looking good. close @ 81.35, volume>18 lacs.

18 FCSSOFT  - hascorrected a little nd in sideways mode. Close @70 volumes- 46.5 K                                      

19 AUSTRAL - as known to all, a scam is out. so now out ofthis list, as sure will be in a downtrend !!!

20 JOCIL – as said last week “having a short history withalmost no volumes. that seems to explain why the stock almost always moves incircuits”. Has shed some gains since. This too dosent deserves attention due tovery low volumes

You are making considerable efforts to make this list. If you could add some projections for select stocks it would be more useful for all readers. Specially for stocks which have increased since Jul_Sep till date(from Feb March its meaningless) your list is an eye opener.

What im posting is actually a list of stocks which have aRelative strength much higher than nifty. It all started with varun, which iinitially spotted using this method at 120, nd which by the way is still tradingaround 190.

What does it means?? It means that the stock is in uptrend,nd if u don’t find any reversal, u can actually buy into it !!!

Right now i don’t have a way to make any kind ofprojections, other than when a stock is in trading range. So sorry for that. Evenotherwise, i will give my opinion, not tips!

What is a "circuit"?

Circuits are the way stock exchanges protect investors money... It is a pre-defined range or limit for a particular stock (or index) beyond which prices are not allowed to go in the same session (day) of trading... For ex, if X stock has a current market price of 100 & if the stock exchange decides that its circuit is 10%, then the price of that stock can not go below 90 or above 110. When the stock price goes beyond 10%, it is termed as circuit breaker & trading is halted for sometime to get back to normalcy...  Circuits are different for different stocks, for some it is 5%, for some 10%, for some others 20% also. When NIFTY or SENSEX circuit breaks, trading is halted on the whole index.

But Don't ask what happens when they take U turns.

Why not u take some more pain of suggesting about entry points in those stocks?
