Moved back to USA

Posted on April 21, 2010 at 12:55 AM

For those who are regulars at my site and are wondering why I have noot been posting or answering to any queries lately, i would like to inform that it has been really hectic for me in the last two to three months and I have not had the time to respond to visit this site.

I apologise if any inconvenience caused to you.

Also I was busy with my move back to USA for a work related project, and was busy setting up my home internet so that once again I can start working on Getbhavcopy.

Since a major part of development of Getbhavcopy happened in my last visit to USA. I hope to continue the same and keep adding new features.

Hope I get time to visit the site more often and be more responsive. Till then keep using Getbhavcopy.

Hemenji,

I would like to appreciate you for the great job of putting a program to cull out past data from NSE and BSE websites. I have been trading in stock for quite some time and was painstakingly downloading the past data and consolidating it into different files for analysis.

In my data analysis, I need the day's "Volume" and "Trade Value" also. Your present program enables me to download the "Volume", but doesn't have the facility to choose "Trade Value". In fact my entire program's is based on these two parameters. Can you kindly consider to include the "Trade Value" also into your great "Getbhavcopy" program? Presently NSE in its .dbf format downloads, is giving the day's "TradeValue" with a heading as "TOTTRDVAL". I want this field also to be incorporated into your program

Another major requirement is can your program also consolidate all the downloaded files (in a download session) into a single file. This would help me to compile and compare the time series data - for example previous years data with current years data etc etc.?

Never the less I once again appreciate you for the great idea and job, which stock exchanges themselves should have done or at-least recognized your efforts and provided a link on their home pages to your program!!!!

Hope you would find some time to reply

Dear Hemen,

i came across this website which stores NAV for all mutual fund schemes in india
http://www.amfiindia.com/DownloadNavHistoryReport_Po.aspx
Just wondering if this could be integrated into the next edition of bhavcopy where we can download the Mutual fund NAV on EOD basis and import the same to amibroker so that in a single platform(amibroker),we can have both share prices as well as mf prices
Also icame across two softwares which does similar stuff but does not have the power to save hisptrical values.they only give the latest value.Yuo can have a look into them as the data download from web is similar in nature

1. http://chandoo.org/wp/2008/04/18/mutual-fund-portfolio-tracker-us
ing-ms-excel/
2. http://download.cnet.com/NAVReporter/3640-2649_4-11093835.html

Getbhavcopy runs on
