Getbhavcopy: Free NSE and BSE data downloader

Over the past three days Getbhavcopy users have not been able to download NSE Equity EOD data because NSE changed the way it provides the csv file. The CSV is no longer provided as clear text but is provided in a zip file. Hence Getbhavcopy was getting 404 error when it tried to download the CSV file for the past three days.

This zip logic has been incorporated in Getbhavcopy version 2.0.7 and data download should be fine now.

This one is a quick fix to let Getbhavcopy users know that there was an error downloading NSE indices data.

As we have seen recently, NSE Indices data does not get downloaded and Getbhavcopy does not report any error. Since the issue is at NSE end (i.e. no indices data generated) Getbhavcopy cannot do much as the data is not availabe for it to download, but it should atleast notify the users that there was an issue.

On the request of few users I had re-enabled Getbhavcopy version 1.4.1. This was to give some users time to upgrade to version 2.0 and to download the latest version of .NET.

I will discontinue this version on 15-Feb-2009, so you will not be able to download data with it after that.
